The Ely family house is located on a 10-acre river view tract in Solebury Township. Originally constructed in 1783, the house is being repurposed as a 2,662 SF rental cottage for bridal parties, private parties, corporate retreats, or small private events.

The exterior of this historic building will be reworked to remove and replace windows and add a new entry reminiscent of the original architecture. Other additions include a warming kitchen serviced by the Shawver Truss Restaurant, a new trellis and stone wall around an existing patio, new eaves, rakes gutters, downspouts, and a cedar shake roof. The stone exterior will be sandblasted and repointed and a covered patio and HVAC attic addition will be constructed.

The interior rework will remodel and provide code compliant steps, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. There will also be ADA compliant entry, bathroom, and kitchen areas. New gas inserts will be placed in the six existing wood burning fireplaces and the use of interior furring and insulation will satisfy energy code compliance. The house will boast new flooring, trim and interior finishes throughout.
